Estelle Gassmann x Lena Schrieb: “embedded echoes”

“embedded echoes” reflects the designers’ keen interest in drawing out the aesthetic qualities of what is often considered marginal, sparking a joyful game of discovery. The interior, the home, serves as the matrix for the motifs and forms the basis for the artistic process of mapping: down feather, zipper or shoe sole, button or fork. In sleep, these miniature elements of daily life resonate, drifting dreamlike across the protective duvet, gently surrounding the resting head. A web takes shape, connected by fine lines, framed and grouped. Arrangements emerge – light-footed and mobile. And from this, new narratives arise, shaped by the sleepers themselves through posture and position, habit and condition– effortless and familiar.

Project description

With the “embedded echoes” collection, Estelle Gassmann and Lena Schrieb launch their first collaboration. Both designers bring their individual expertise to the project. The design itself originates from Lena Schrieb, who builds on her project STADTSTEMPEL developed with studio pari–pari (DE). Project coordination and production are led by Estelle Gassmann, who continues the narrative of her first bedding collection embedded stories through this new partnership. The result is a series of pillowcases and duvet covers in two colorways, where poetic traces of the everyday are transferred onto textile through clay stamp printing and drawing.
