Am Wochenende des 16./17. Dezember 2023 treffen sich ausgewählte Schweizer DesignerInnen aus dem In- und Ausland, allesamt mit Flair fürs Besondere und Authentische, zu einer gemeinsamen Verkaufsausstellung – VENDITA delle feste, Salon leidenschaftlicher GestalterInnen.

The 18^th edition of the PCC will be held from 14 to 22 September this year in some thirty venues in Carouge and in Geneva. To mark its 35 anniversary (doesn’t time fly?), the theme chosen for the international contemporary ceramics biennial event focuses on Writings, images, messages. Indeed, ceramics has become the staple medium for artistic expression in the last decade, be it as message carrier or as the message itself.

How do contemporary ceramists express their view and their presence in the world through their work? Whether their approach seeks to convey a pledge or whether it is an aesthetic pursuit, the selected artists combine techniques and multiply repertoirs and references in works which remind us that the earth medium offers infinite possibilities.

The PCC will also include free conferences, guided tours, demonstrations and workshops for all ages, which will – each in their on way – contribute to the scope of this edition. Throughout the nine days of events, the Parcours Céramique Carougeois intends to reaffirm the warmth and universal character of ceramics.

Mistakes occur, mishaps happen, things get damaged, many things remain unfinished or provisional. Imperfection accompanies our lives and we learn to deal with it through different strategies. Even in creative processes, in the material world and in productions, imperfection itself and its consequences are extremely diverse – from a flaw that unexpectedly defines a valuable one-off to a ruinous production error or a failed construction project.
